Charity
The
Charity is administered by the current Trustees in accordance with the
provisions of the Scheme (Constitution). The object of the Charity is
the provision and maintenance of the Sports Field and the Village Hall
for the use by the inhabitants of the Parish of Dunchurch and the surrounding
neighbourhood without distinction of political, religious or other opinions.
The Sports
Field (the land) is described in a conveyance of 16th January 1929 which
was made between the Right Honourable Samuel James Baron Waring of the
one part and Arthur Cuncliffe Bernard Critchley DSO and two others of
the other part and recorded in the books of the Charity Commission on
2nd March 1929 pursuant to Section 29(4) of the Settled Land Act 1925.
Until 2003,
the land was utilised primarily for the purpose of sports and used by
the Dunchurch Cricket and Football Clubs. This will continue and hopefully
expand to include others, in particular the youngsters of the area. With
the completion of the construction of the new Village Hall in 2003 under
the management of the Trustees, it is hoped that it will now encourage
a much wider range of activities suitable for all sections of the Dunchurch
community.
The object
of the charity and the mission statement is: "It is the aim of the
trustees of Dunchurch sportsfield and village hall to provide, manage
and maintain in a courteous and professional manner the sports field and
village hall for the use of, and to meet the needs of, the inhabitants
of the parish of Dunchurch and district regardless of political, religious
or other opinion"
The Annual
General Meeting of the Charity takes place in March. At this time the Trustees nominated by the Parish Council, Festival Group,
Cricket Club and Football Club, to stand for the next year, are announced.
In addition, there are four Trustees who will be elected to serve for
the next year. Any questions arising with regard to Dunchurch Sportsfield
& Village Hall Charity should be addressed to the Secretary. |
