Planting of Jubilee Tree

The Queen's Jubilee, Dunchurch

" The Trustees of the Dunchurch Sportsfield and Village Hall decided that their really enduring commemoration of Her Majesties Diamond Jubilee should take the form of an iconic symbol of the nation and selected an English oak.The 9 year old tree has been placed close to the gated entrance of the Sportsfield and is photographed here being planted by the Chairman of Trustees, Paul Smith who said " I think this tree ,which we hope will grow and flourish for decades to come, is a fitting and lasting tribute to Her Majesties tireless dedication over the 60 years of her reign."

In the picture are Paul Smith, Chairman of the Trustees of Dunchurch Sportsfield and Village Hall, Mike Judge (in the boater) Trustee and in the background also supporting the tree Phill Freeman. (Trustee)
